We use Microsoft Teams for video calls and communication with our clients.
However, Teams uses a lot of resources on MacOs.
As a workaround, you can install Teams as a PWA (progressive web app). It feels like a native MacOS application, but runs Teams in a browser window.
Installation
Chrome/Chromium
Hot dog menu (the three dots in the upper right corner) > More tools > Create Shortcut > check the "Open as Window" checkbox
Microsoft Edge
Hot dog menu (the three dots in the upper right corner) > Apps > Install this site as an app
Firefox
Mozilla has discontinued the installation of PWAs on desktops. You can still use the web application in the browser window, but you cannot create a new desktop app.
Limitations
You can use background effects for your camera - including blur. But you cannot upload custom backgrounds.
