Developing inside a Container

Every project comes with its own combination of used programming languages and build tools. Nothing is more annoying than the two hours it takes you getting a project up and running on your system only to fix a small bug.

With Gitpods (SAAS Product) and Visual Studio Code Dev Containers there are two ways to run your development stack in a container or even in the cloud.

GitHub recently announced Codespaces. An integrated web IDE that uses dev containers to build and run your code in the cloud. And GitLab already comes with native Gitpods support. So far there doesn't seem to be any IntelliJ IDEA support for any of them (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-226455#focus=Comments-27-4903455.0-0). But the JetBrains Projector project looks promising and I would love to see a demo in an upcoming DecSquad.
